How MoistureSorb™ Works

MoistureSorb™ is very effective and efficient at adsorbing moisture and odors. MoistureSorb™ is negatively charged whereas moisture and odoriferous gases ride on positively charged particles. As a result, MoistureSorb™ draws in moisture like a strong magnet and traps it. The molecular structure of MoistureSorb™ is made up of a lattice structure arranged to form a honeycomb framework of billions of interconnecting channels. This gives MoistureSorb™ an enormous surface area that is larger than several football fields. The latter enables MoistureSorb™ to adsorb phenomenal amounts of moisture and odors and work for months.

Rejuvenating, Reusing & Recycling

The MoistureSorb™ Moisture & Odor Absorbent Granules and Powder may be reused repeatedly after periodically rejuvenating them. Rejuvenate the granules and powder weekly until a noticeable decrease in moisture and odor is detected. Thereafter, rejuvenate them every 3-4 months or when moisture and odor levels increase. To rejuvenate, simply heat the pouches in a microwave 2-4 minutes, place in direct sunlight for a day or heat in an oven at 425O F (220O C) for about 3-5 hours and reuse.

The number of times MoistureSorb™ can be rejuvenated and its actual life span will depend on the moisture and odor concentrations, temperature, humidity and velocity of air flow it is exposed to. Replace the pouches every 3-4 months or when rejuvenation eventually fails to work.

As a precaution, do not rejuvenate MoistureSorb™ in a microwave or oven if they have been exposed to a hazardous or toxic substance. It is better to be safe and to rejuvenate the granules and powder outdoors in direct sunlight where is plenty ventilation.

Unused MoistureSorb™ moisture and odor control media or used media that has not been exposed to hazardous substances can be recycled by removing this material from the pouch and applying to gardens, flower beds, yards, fields, potting soil and plant beds with thorough watering. It will act as a slow release fertilizer and help retain soil moisture.

Disposal

The unused MoistureSorb™ Moisture Absorbent Granules and Powder is non-hazardous and environmentally safe. However, this may change if it is exposed to hazardous or toxic substances. Used MoistureSorb™ should be disposed according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
