Funeral Home and Autopsy Odor Problems
Funeral homes and some medical facilities like autopsy
rooms can be exposed to unpleasant body odors and formaldehyde vapors from embalming
fluids. The use of formaldehyde in embalming fluids is now required by all state
laws. Unfortunately, formaldehyde is a pungent smelling substance that can vaporize
at room temperature. The strong, unpleasant body and formaldehyde odors are
offensive to many people. Unfortunately, most ventilation systems only recirculate
room air and remove large particulate matter such as dirt, dust, and lint. Noxious
body and formaldehyde odors are left free to recirculate in the air you breathe.
Over time, they could increase in concentration and result in serious indoor
air pollution problems e.g. sick building syndrome.
Medical problems that have been associated with
formaldehyde exposure include watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes and
throat, nausea, and difficulty in breathing. High concentrations may trigger
asthma attacks in people with asthma. There is evidence that some people can
develop chemical sensitivity after exposure to formaldehyde. Furthermore, formaldehyde
is also known to pose a carcinogenic and mutagenic risk to humans. The health
problems associated with formaldehyde could lead to complaints from employees
and OSHA fines.
The Solution
The Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy Deodorizer Pouch
was specially developed to adsorb, neutralize, and encapsulate body and embalming
fluid odors on contact. Smelleze™ will truly cleanse the air of offensive odors,
complement existing ventilation systems, and create a safer more pleasant environment.
It's No Cover-up
The Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy Deodorizer Pouch
is a natural deodorizer that can be used to eliminate noxious and unpleasant
body and embalming fluid odors instead of merely masking them with fragrances.
Smelleze™ is negatively charged whereas body and embalming fluid odors ride
on positively charged particles. As a result, Smelleze™ draws in odors like
a strong magnet. Thereafter, it traps, neutralizes, and encapsulates them without
smelly cover-ups. The molecular structure of Smelleze™ is made up of a lattice
structure arranged to form a honeycomb framework of billions of interconnecting
channels. This gives Smelleze™ an enormous surface area that is larger than
several football fields. The latter enables Smelleze™ to adsorb phenomenal amounts
of body and embalming fluid odors and work for months.
Environmentally Friendly
The Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy Deodorizer Pouch
is non-toxic, safe, non-hazardous, natural, non-scented and non-caustic. It
is an ideal environmentally friendly solution for eliminating body, formaldehyde
and other embalming fluid odors without adding pollutants to the air you breathe.
Smelleze™ does not contain chemical additives and is also especially beneficial
for those suffering from chemical sensitivity.
Applications
Smelleze™ can be effectively used to eliminate formaldehyde,
embalming fluid, body, and organ odors. Typical applications include:
- Anatomy Labs
- Autopsy Rooms
- Funeral Homes
- Hearses
- Morgues
- Pathology Labs
Directions
For a breath of fresh air, simply remove the plastic
cover, place Smelleze™ pouches in the area to treated, and smell the difference.
Use one or more pouches for every 400 square feet. This product will function
most efficiently in an enclosed area with good air circulation. To obtain the
best results, remove the odor sources (e.g. open containers and spills) and
clean the affected area prior to treating with Smelleze™. For extra effectiveness,
use this product in conjunction with Smelleze™ Embalming Fluid Deodorizer Powder
and Smelleze™ Formaldehyde Absorbent Granules.
Rejuvenating, Reusing & Recycling
The Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy Deodorizer Pouch may
be reused repeatedly after periodically rejuvenating them. Rejuvenate the pouches
weekly until a noticeable decrease in odor is detected. Thereafter, rejuvenate
them every 3-4 months or when odor levels increase. To rejuvenate, simply heat
the pouches in a microwave 2-4 minutes or place in direct sunlight for a day
and reuse.
The number of times Smelleze™ can be rejuvenated and its actual life span
will depend on the odor concentrations, temperature, humidity and velocity of
air flow it is exposed to. Replace the pouches every 3-4 months or when rejuvenation
eventually fails to work.
As a precaution, do not rejuvenate the Smelleze™ in a microwave if they
have been exposed to a hazardous or toxic substance. It is better to be safe
and to rejuvenate the pouch outdoors in direct sunlight where is plenty of ventilation.
Unused Smelleze™ odor control media or used media that has not been exposed
to hazardous substances can be recycled by removing this material from the pouch
and applying to gardens, flower beds, yards, fields, potting soil and plant
beds with thorough watering. It will act as a slow release fertilizer and help
retain soil moisture.
Disposal
The unused Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy Deodorizer
Pouch is non-hazardous and environmentally safe. However, this may change if
it is exposed to hazardous or toxic substances. Used Smelleze™ should be disposed
according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Order Risk Free
When you purchase the Smelleze™ Funeral Home/Autopsy
Deodorizer Pouch, you do so at absolutely no risk. It comes with a 100% satisfaction
guaranteed warranty. If it fails to perform according to its specifications
or is defective, it will be replaced immediately.
