Various gases could be generated from waste water and effluent streams which result in pungent odors which are unacceptable to most parties in addition to being a health risk. Furthermore, waste water streams could also contain toxic heavy metals which could render it hazardous and pigments which could promote the build up of algae. This could result in complaints from the public as well as employees and lead to OSHA and EPA fines.

WaterKlean™ Water Treatment Filtration Media was specially developed to absorb and encapsulate many unpleasant odors found in waste water and effluent streams such as mercaptans, formaldehyde, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, VOC's, and many, many more. Furthermore, WaterKlean™ will also remove a wide range of heavy metal and other cations via ion exchange such as:

Rb+, Li+, K+, Cs+, NH4+, Na+, Ag+, Cd+2, Pb+2, Zn+2, Ba+2, Sr+2, Cu+2, Ca+2, Hg+2, Mg+2, Fe+2, Co+3, Al+3, and Cr+3

To use, install WaterKlean™ in filter according to the manufacturers recommendation and backwash prior to use. It can also be applied to ponds, effluents and over natural soils at a rate of 1/2-3 pounds per square foot. This product can be regenerated for reuse by backwashing with a solution of 10% sodium chloride.
